Occupy Wall Street (OWS) is a protest movement which began September 17, 2011 in Zuccotti Park, located in New York City's Wall Street financial district, initiated by the Canadian activist group Adbusters. The protests are against social and economic inequality, high unemployment, greed, as well as corruption, and the undue influence of corporations—particularly from the financial services sector—on government. The protesters' slogan We are the 99% refers to the growing income and wealth inequality in the U.S. between the wealthiest 1% and the rest of the population. The protests in New York City have sparked similar Occupy protests and movements around the world.

HOMEWORKMeanwhile also from New York the largest anti Wall Street rally since the Credit Crunch happened yesterday. Thousands of workers and trade union leaders marched in anger over lost jobs, ruined lives and they're demanding answers from the source of who they believe is responsible, who is the source of the trouble : the banks.

PROTEST
WHY OCCUPY ?
As Occupy protests have spread from New York, across the US and around the world, the two big questions have been: who are the protesters and what do they want.
The Guardian thought that one way to answer these questions was to give the protesters the chance to speak for themselves - and to each other, whichever city they happened to be occupying.
So they asked three Wall Street occupiers to record a short video message to post on YouTube answering three simple questions: why am I here; what do I hope to achieve; and what would I like to know from other protesters.
Here are some of those videos.
